IN THE WIND P20 ALESSI FINED FOR TICKLE INCIDENT M ike Alessi has been fined $4000 and put on probation for the rest of the 2014 season fol- lowing his run-in with Broc Tickle in a heat race for Saturday night's Atlanta Super- cross. After being passed by Tickle in the first of two heat races in the Georgia Dome, Alessi chased Tickle into a corner and center- punched him, sending both riders to the ground and ultimately to the semis. Afterwards, Alessi called it "just a racing incident" and said it was "water under the bridge." The AMA/FIM race officials and Tickle ap- parently thought otherwise. "After a review of the incident that took place between rider Mike Alessi and rider Broc Tickle in the 450SX heat race, the race director determined that Alessi violated rule A2, c. 17 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Champion- ship, rulebook. As a result of this violation, the race director assessed Alessi a penalty of $4,000 and placed him on probation for the remainder of the 2014 season. There was no appeal." Alessi and Tickle both qualified for the main event through the semis and Alessi finished sixth in the main – one spot ahead of Tickle.
