JAKE JOHNSON'S
2014 PROGRAM
T
wo-time AMA Grand National
Champion Jake Johnson will
be the sole rider on the Lloyd
Brothers Motorsports/Parkin-
son Brothers Racing team for
the 2014 flat track season, the
29-year-old set to race again with
sponsor Ramspur Winery.
"I joined the team part way
through last season and it re-
ally feels like home to me," said
Johnson, who won his two Grand
National Championships in 2010
and 2011. "We have a great group
of people on the team that are
talented, professional and work
very well together. The
bikes performed very well
and I am confident that they
capable of running at the
front and winning. I felt very
comfortable on the bikes at
our last test without the in-
take restrictors and I am re-
ally excited for this season."
Johnson's bikes will be
tuned by Brent Armbruster, who
will continue as the team's crew
chief.
"The stable of motorcycles
that the team has assembled to
compete this year is impressive
including 450 singles, V-twin, L-
Twin and parallel- twin cylinder
motorcycles," said Terry Otton.
Jake Johnson will ride for Lloyd
Brothers Motorsports again in 2014.
DONNIE BARGMANN,
1951-2014
F
lat track announcer Donnie Bargmann, whose distinctive gravelly
voice was a staple at AMA Grand National Championship races
for years, died on Sunday, February 16, at his home in Pekin, Illinois.
He was 63.
Bargmann was known for a score of distinctive sayings and excit-
ing descriptions of races. Perhaps his signature phrase was "How
about that Mile? Ha, ha, ha." he would say with emphasis, followed
by his big raspy laugh after a close finish.
"I am saddened to hear about the passing of Donnie," said sev-
en-time AMA Grand National Champion Chris Carr. "I loved his en-
tertaining style and personality that he brought to the races. More
importantly, he was a man of honor, who always had a kind word for
everybody, even on their bad days. I will always remember Donnie for
his unique descriptions of racers and one-liners he would throw out
for us to hear."
The Bargmann family and friends invite the flat track community to
celebrate the life of Donnie Bargmann. The celebration will be held
Saturday February 22 at 1 p.m. at the Roy L. King VFW 15665 VFW
Rd., Pekin, Illinois 61554.
