VOL. 51 ISSUE 6 FEBRUARY 11, 2014 P37
>>American Honda released
the latest addition to its 2014
line-up: the all-new-from-the-
ground-up CBR650F. The
fully faired CBR650F was first
introduced at the 2013 EICMA
show in Milan alongside its
sister, the naked standard
CB650F. Originally both
models were designated for
the European market, but now
the sportier CBR650F will be
the one to hit the U.S. market
this summer. The CBR650F
boasts what Honda says is
the balance between sporty
handling and performance with
fuel efficiency and comfortable
seating accommodations.
The CBR650F features a liquid-
cooled 16-valve DOHC 649cc
inline-four engine, a six-speed
transmission and four-into-one
exhaust system. Chassis-wise,
the CBR650F has a twin-spar
steel frame, which Honda
claims is strong but not too stiff
for casual everyday riding. It
has a 57-inch wheelbase and
reasonably low 31.9-inch ride
height.
The MSRP is listed at
$8499 and $8999 for the ABS
upgrade.
