VOL. 51 ISSUE 6 FEBRUARY 11, 2014 P35
>>It's back: After a five-year
absence, the popular Honda
VFR800 Interceptor makes a
return to American Honda's 2014
line-up. Phased out in 2009
and replaced by the bigger
VFR1200, the "little" VFR is back
and it's back with some modern
upgrades. For one, it gets traction
control as a standard feature.
Big Red also found a way to
improve the power delivery
of the 782cc V-four engine,
making changes in cam
timing and engine mapping,
according to Honda. That
combined with shedding some
pounds from the 'ole girl,
Honda now offers a leaner,
meaner version of the classic.
In addition to the standard
model, Honda offers the
deluxe version of the VFR800,
which gets ABS, grip heaters,
self-canceling turn signals and
a centerstand.
The MSRP is $12,499 for
the standard model and $1000
more gets you the Deluxe at
$13,999
