a lot of glare on these hills and I
came up one of the hills and ap-
parently lost track of where I was
at on the track and I was much
further to the left than I thought I
was and I went right through the
banners!
"I sat there for a good 20 sec-
onds trying to get the banner off
the front of the bike, then when
I took off, it got trapped in the
back of the bike so then I lost my
brakes for about two laps. Then I
had a crash about a lap from the
end just to make things harder!"
Yorba said, "Probably about
two laps in, I got pumped up re-
ally bad. Just after that once it
started clearing out, I was like,
'All right, I can kind of get into a
groove a little bit.'
"I came into pit and my dad
told me I was catching him and I
was like, 'Oh man, I'd better start
pushing!' "
Down by a minute nearly an
hour into the race, Yorba chipped
away and was 20 seconds be-
hind at the finish with Seeds
coming back from a time-con-
suming crash for a solitary third
aboard his Precision Concepts/
Zip-Ty Racing/Maxxis KX450F.
"My roommate Eric Yorba was
sick two weeks ago and he got
me sick [for this weekend]!"
Among the other races over
the weekend, Women Expert
champion Elizabeth Bash ap-
peared to be very comfortable on

In the Vet race, Morgan Craw-
ford settled down after a banzai
pass attempt at the end of the
first lap shot him off the course,
coming back to overall that race
and take the Vet 250cc Expert
(Above) Reese Reynolds came from
third to win the combined Junior/
Micro race and take the Junior
Novice victory.
(Above right) Morgan Crawford got
a little eager early in the race and
lost several spots, though he got
back on track and won the Vet race.
