Bobby Bonds opens the WCGP Series
with Taft win

R
acing rarely offers do-
overs, so when the op-
portunity came up, Bobby
Bonds took it.
You see, a couple weeks ago
he appeared to be on his way to
a sure win in the WORCS opener
at Honolulu Hills Raceway - until
the foam insert in his rear tire fi-
nally disintegrated on the last lap
and he limped in a distant and
disappointed fourth.
So, when the AMA District 37/
GPR Big 6 Grand Prix Series
kicked off its season at the same
venue, "Bondo" made sure the
new insert had plenty of lube and
that the rest of his R&D Motors-
ports/Maxxis/Fly Racing-spon-
sored KX450F was just as care-
Eric Yorba (280) got the holeshot
in the WCGP race and led for the
first lap and a half. Justin Seeds (2)
ended up third.
