ith his victory at the
San Diego Supercross,
James Stewart is now
the fourth different rider to win a
round of the 2014 Monster Energy
AMA Supercross Series, which is
just six races old. Four different
riders - that is a lot in such a short
span, but there are a few others
who have a real chance of joining
that win list soon. Ryan Dungey
and Justin Barcia quickly come
to mind.
To say that this year's 450 Su-
percross is competitive is pretty
much the understatement of the
year. Because of this, every rider
is doing everything they can to
get the upper hand on the com-
petition, and one those things as
of late has especially been bike
set-up. Bike prep has always
been important, of course, but
everyone has been talking about
it quite a bit more lately, most
likely because the traction-less
tracks on the West Coast. There
is no denying that many of the
top riders have the speed to win,
but they can't take advantage of
that speed if their bikes are com-
pletely in tune with the person at
the controls. Stewart attributes
much of his San Diego win to his
Yoshimura Suzuki Team for get-
ting his bike properly tuned in for
the track.
"We were chasing the track
all day, as far as setup," said
