Argubright diced with Burson
for at least half of the first 51-mile
loop, though the bad luck that
struck the Husky racer at round
one followed him to round two
and his FC 450 rattled to a stop
before reaching the pit.
That left three out front with
Burson again at the head of the
lead pack even after blowing a
turn and losing the course mo-
mentarily, Ramirez and Brabec
next to latch onto his rear fender.
"It was awesome, just going in
and out of the bushes trying to get
by each other!" Brabec said. "On
loop two, we went down a sand
wash right next to Trona Road.
He was in sixth gear wide-open
and I was in fifth gear wide-open
- we were tucked going down
this sand wash! That's where I
bagged him for the lead. I only
led for maybe three miles then he
bagged me back. Once he did
that, I didn't have enough energy
to pump through the rocks and I
didn't want to risk falling over and
breaking the bike."
Still, third marked the best Na-
tional finish to date for Precision
Concepts/THR Motorsports/

Purvines Racing Beta team owner
Ron Purvines says he will be going
to the Beta factory in Italy in a couple
months to meet with management,
provide input and try to get additional
support for what is the largest team
in the series.

Moose Run the best-attended AMA
Youth National Hare & Hound
Championship Series round to
date in California. Only Utah has
drawn more riders.
