HUSQVARNA
SHOWS OFF ITS
NEW DIGS
H
usqvarna Motorcycles USA,
formerly Husqvarna North
America, kicked off its first deal-
er meeting with a ribbon cutting
for their new headquarters in
Murrieta, California, on Sunday,
February 2.
Dealers from all over North
America got a tour of the new fa-
cility before seeing a presentation
about the reunion of the Husqvar-
na and the Husaberg brands, its
future, and the new models over
dinner at the Ponte Winery.
The new facility features a mix
of the old and new, with new
models on display as well as
plenty of Husqvarna's rich histo-
ry in the form of memorabilia and
motorcycles. Also a blending of
past and present was having both
Husqvarna racing legends of the
past and their new off-road team
at the meeting. Guests got to
tour the new race shop and talk
with racers Mike Brown, Russell
Bobbitt, Andrew De Long, and
Jason Argubright.

WORLD SUPERBIKE ENTRIES A GO-GO
K
awasaki's World Champion Tom Sykes will wear
the number-one plate on his ZX-10R in the 2014
World Superbike Championship, according to the
official entry list released by the FIM last week.
Sykes will lead a 27-rider grid as the series gets
rolling on February 23 at Phillip Island in Australia
– a grid made up of six Brits (or at least from the
U.K.), eight Italians, five Frenchmen, one Irishman,
one Spaniard, a South African, two Hungarians
and two Americans.
As far as manufacturers go, Kawasaki leads the
way with nine entries. Then comes Aprilia, BMW
and Ducati with three each; Honda, Bimota, Suzuki
and EBR with two apiece; and there is also going
to be a single MV Agusta on the grid.
Aaron Yates and Geoff May will wear their AMA
numbers in their debut seasons of World Super-
bike with Yates' EBR carrying his familiar number
20 while May gets to keep his number 99.
Tom Sykes – a World Champion who will actually
wear number one on his bike.
