CN III VOICES P18 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "I was so happy to see him win again." Baker vs. Marquez You are right on the money ["Carruthers Says," Issue #2, January 14] with an event pitting stars of different disciplines. Make it a by invitation only, three-day event. Have a Supermoto on the first day, TT on the second (makes me think of the Astrodome) and then the short track on the last day so if the points are close you would have a dog fight to win. Get Red Bull, Bud, Ford etc. to sponsor the event, and put up an unreal purse of $1 million to win it all (three-event series – California, Texas, Florida) and donate the proceeds to the "Wounded Warriors" and breast cancer awareness. You guys should get behind it to get Cycle News some good mainstream press and do it without the AMA, who like Dorna would screw it up. If you really wanted to spice it up also have a brothers team challenge with the Haydens, Bostroms, Roberts, Bakers, Halberts, just to name a few. Have Kenny Roberts face off against Ago and any other who would be interested on the final night on the short track. You could build a great entertaining program and sell the TV rights to someone. Well, this isn't the first time I have suggested something like this to Cycle News. If I win the lottery I will fund this event myself, or someone could use Kickstarter to get the funds, which wouldn't be a problem with great perks if you donate. John Holman Via the Internet Baker vs. Marquez Even in rinky-dink Durango, on my computer, I saw great video action of Brad "The Bullet" Baker and some guy named Marc Marquez in Spain no less. And I can't even watch AMA road racing or World Superbike on TV now. They were going at it tooth and nail, hot and heavy. Kudos for Marquez for putting his name and reputation on the line to help sponsor this. I'm now a fan. Tom Taggert Via the Internet Reed Wins For sure Chad Reed earned that win. I could just imagine how proud his son felt seeing his dad do that. I can only imagine the feeling that Chad had on the cool-down lap knowing he was going to see his boy's face after just smoking the field of the best in the world. Awesome ride, Chad. Timothy Kamholz Via Facebook Reed Wins II I was so happy to see him win again. This guy never quits and he's a great role model and family man. Congrats! Michael E. Ford Via Facebook Reed Wins III Woo-Hoo! Go Reedy! I think we woke up the entire neighborhood with our cheering. Randy Burress Via Facebook Reed Wins IV Chad Reed blew me away. I pretty much had written Reed off and I'm happy to be wrong. I like the dude... and he was on the gas. Greg Sargent Via Facebook The Legacy That Bienville Legacy ["Master Craftsman At Work," Issue 3, January 21] is way out of the box. I like it. Kevin Sigrist Got An Opinion?
