he passed Roczen. He soon
caught Stewart but got a little
too close to him. While trying to
pass Stewart, Villopoto suddenly
hit the deck. He later said that he
had no idea what had caused him
to fall until watching the video after the race, which revealed that
Stewart's leg had gotten sucked
into Villopoto's front wheel, causing his front end to wash out.
"Tonight was unfortunate,"
said Villopoto. "I felt we were in
a good position to get into the
lead and get away. As I came up
to make the pass [on Stewart],
my front end just got pulled from
under me and I didn't know what
happened."
"Ryan was trying to get around
me," Stewart said. "He hit my
foot and my foot got caught up in
P49
his front wheel and I think that's
why he went down."
Fourth went to last week's surprise rider Brayton on the throwback black and yellow Toyota/
Yamaha/N-Fab/JGRMX Yamaha. Brayton didn't get the jump
like he did the week before, but
he still rode well and turned an
eighth-place start into a solid
fourth-place finish.
