Briefly...
TLD/Honda's Shane McElrath and
finished the race in sixth. "Finally
I got my starts down, we've been
working real hard on them all week,"
said Webb. "I was out front and just
ended up making a mistake in that
rhythm, and Anderson and Seely
got around me. I was right there on
them, and I tried to pass Anderson
back and he hit me off the track. I got
up in sixth and came back through
the pack and I was all over Dean,
and we were trying to make the pass
on Shane McElrath. Then me and
McElrath collided and we both went
down. I feel like I could have for sure
been on the podium, but I had a few
minor problems."
Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jake
Weimer, who crashed at Anaheim
I, captured a heat-race win in Phoenix but had troubles in the 450 main
event. He tangled with another rider
after getting off to a midpack start.
He remounted in last and finished
out the race 18th. Still, Weimer was
positive about the night. "It was an
improvement on last week," he said.
"I'm still a little beat up from my crash
in Anaheim, but no excuses. I had a
great heat race [but] made a costly
mistake in the main."
Heat-race winner Monster Energy/
Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Dean Wilson, once again, finished fourth in
the 250 main, and his sore elbow
is improving. "This weekend was a
lot better than last, even though the
result was the same," Wilson said.
"I felt awesome coming off my heat
race win, but got caught up with
some riders early and just didn't ride
like myself."
