CN III VOICES P18 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "He seems like a nice kid and he's obviously a hell of a racer." Scotty Fan I am so glad you make room for Michael Scott's journalism. Any fan of MotoGP - no matter how well informed - becomes both more knowledgeable and entertained as a result of his colorful, insightful and frank observations. And a publication with the excellence of Cycle News is always improved when a writer with a clever and sometimes wicked sense of humor is a contributor. Mike Morton Via the Internet In The Paddock Why did Michael Scott ("In The Paddock," Issue 1, January 7) fail to mention that fuel would be cut back from 21 liters to 20 liters this year in MotoGP? It's a very significant change and obvious advantage to Honda for even the most casual observer, as the Yamahas have ran out of fuel on the cool-down laps on multiple occasions this past year. And that's actually an improvement from the year prior when they ran out altogether during the race. I have a very strong inkling that "more of the same" is not what 2014 promises to bring that is if you prefer close racing and tense competition. But rather more Marc Marquez winning and lots more Honda 1-2s. It's quite clear by the author's omission in this storyline that the latter is what he was referring to as filling the bill nicely for him. Stephen Hagberg Houston, TX Roczen Fan Nice to see Ken Roczen win the Anaheim Supercross ("Roczen Solid Win," Issue 1, January 7). He seems like a nice kid and he's obviously a hell of a racer. Let's hope there's more to come. Shane Dowsett Via the Internet James Stewart Yes, James Stewart is fast, but you would think after all these years he would know it's better to keep the bike on two wheels and get some points than to DNF. "The whoops had been taking people out all night…" so he thought that was a good place to pass? He makes dumb decisions that make him crash out. Joshua McGeachy Via Facebook James Stewart II It's really sad that when he crashes everyone jumps on the I-hate-James-Stewart wagon. He just got caught in the whoops. At least he was pushing forward at Anaheim and no one was as fast as him. I think he will do great this year. Bob Rosbach Via Facebook James Stewart III It's a long season and I will wait until the end to see who is champ. Go James!
