sure if I was racing," said Wilson. "I
really wanted to salvage a podium,
but considering how the day went
I'm happy with fourth place and plan
to be back on the podium next weekend."
Wil Hahn had mixed results after his
first ride on the 450 GEICO Honda.
"I made a lot of little mistakes today,"
Hahn said. "The semi was great because I got out front and was able
to ride my lines, but when we got
around to the main I just didn't give
myself a chance because my start
was off. Then I made some mistakes
in the first few laps, and I ended up
back there midpack where the bad
stuff happens. I stayed with it and
started feeling stronger and faster as
the race went along. I made some
solid passes and got up to 11th. I'm
not happy with that result, but I have
some good things to build off."

Team's Mike Alessi did something
he hadn't done in his whole professional racing career – he won a
Supercross heat. He held off Ryan
Villopoto, who had earlier stalled his
bike, to take the narrow win when Villopoto went down trying to pass him
in the last turn. Alessi was overtaken
by emotion and broke down in tears
on the podium.
