"I just kept doing my thing, and
as time went by, at halfway, I'm
like, 'all right, let's do this.' I kept
going and heard James [Stewart]
coming and I just tried to relax my
body. I was holding on really tight,
but I could control it. If James
passed me, I would've definitely
tried to get back by him; I really
wanted to win. He was flying out
there.
"With two laps to go, I'm like,
'Man, it's getting close.'
"I did it," he added. "I still can't
believe it. It's such a great feeling. I'm going to go home and
enjoy the feeling. I've podiumed
before [in the 450 class], but this
is different - a lot of guys were out
[last time]. This being really my
first time in this class and coming
away with a win in the first race
is an amazing feeling. It's insane.
I'm blown away."
And all this coming from a
man who thought he had broken
his arm while training just a few
weeks ago.
"My arm is 100 percent, there
is no pain anymore," he said.
"The first doctor told me it was
broken, but I'm like, 'No way, I'm
definitely racing no matter what.'
I went and had more X-rays and
they said nothing was broken so I
was good to go."
It was a great night for KTM.

Factory Team riders, Roczen and
