Herrin said the Caterham Moto2
machine allowed him to find lean
angles he'd never experienced
before as this elbow slider shows.
"The farther you lean off the bike
the faster it goes through the
turns," Herrin claims.

THE FAMILY
The Herrins moved from Glendale, California, to Georgia in
2004. "My parents wanted to
raise us in a more family-friendly
environment, " Herrin said. "Plus
the fact we could buy this property out here and build this track
that would have taken millions in
California."
Josh's dad was a motorcycle
road racer, so as Josh puts it, "I
pretty much grew up at places
like Willow [Springs], Thunderhill,
Fontana and Sears Point."
Josh was 14 when his family
made the move, and being the
oldest it was toughest on him to
move away from the school and
friends he'd been raised with in
California. But he says he grew
to love the Dublin area and the
people he met there.
"I can't see myself living anywhere else now," Herrin says.
Of the Herrin kids, Josh's
younger brother Zach (who looks
like he just stepped out of the
pages of GQ) is the only one who
doesn't feel like he fits in in Georgia. Youngest brother Gavin was
so young when the family moved
he's for all intents and purposes a
full-fledged Georgia country boy
(the day I visited he came home
from school wearing a camouflage hunting jacket). Zach is an
aspiring car racer who would
love to make it to Formula One
someday. Gavin, like Josh, is a
motorcycle racer, and will be racing WERA Nationals this season
and is expected to make his AMA
Pro debut in a year or two. Josh's
little sister Zoe is the only Herrin
