JD Beach spent
the last two
seasons on the
Red Bull Road
Race Factory
team.
it like racing up there in Washington growing up?
Yeah, it was cool. I moved
away from there when I was 16.
But it was cool when I was living
there racing a lot. Me and Brad
Baker basically grew up racing
together. So it's cool to see him
doing so well in dirt track. I think
we really push each other a lot
and definitely learned a lot racing
together.
Now you're in Kentucky with
the Gillims, and the Haydens
are close by, also Jake Lewis…
is it nice to have the group that
you have to ride and train together?
Yeah where I'm living now with
the Gillims… it's great. I've got
a place to live that's real close
to a lot of the races we do and
they're great people. And it's
been nice cause Hayden [Gillim]
and I… we go to almost all of the
same races so I've always got
somebody to go with. And then
plus we can train and ride together. And we've got a track at
the house that we can just gear
up and go ride. It's a great place
to be at and I think that it's really
helped me a lot.
How difficult is it juggling
road racing and dirt track or
do you just love it so much it
doesn't seem difficult?
Yeah, I mean since I grew up
racing dirt track it's kind of hard
to stop. Especially since we don't
have a ton of [road] races a year.
It's nice to be able to stay on the
bike and be racing a lot. I've had
a great chance of having great
bikes in both road racing and dirt
and just being able to keep racing in both and doing well in both.
What's your favorite thing
about dirt track and your favorite thing about road racing?
I think my favorite thing about
dirt track is that the racing is so
close the whole race. And then
plus you have to be ready to go
the whole time, because the track
is constantly changing. So you're
constantly having to change the
bike. It's a real big thinking game.
One of my favorite things about
road racing is since the races
are so long and everybody's so
close in times, you really have to
be perfect every single lap, every
