2014 450-CLASS MOTOCROSS SHOOTOUT
COUNTDOWN
6TH PLACE
KTM 350 SX-F
W
e said it last year and we'll
say it again this year – the
KTM 350 SX-F is pure fun
to ride. It'll keep you grinning
harder and longer than on any of
the 450s. It feels like a 250F –
revvy and agile - but with 450-ishlike power, how can you not like
that? Throw in great ergos, excellent turning capabilities, outstanding brakes, solid chassis
and electric starting and you have
all the ingredients for fun. It's the
perfect track-day bike, but none
of our testers picked it over the
450s when it came to racing,
something we put heavy emphasis on with our MX shootouts.
They are just not willing to give
up that much torque and power
when a trophy is on the line. It is,
of course, capable of getting to
the finish line first but you're just
going to have to work a bit harder.
And we're not really into work. If
this shootout was based purely
on fun, the KTM 350 SX-F would
win. Hands down.
