Romboni, a father of three, won six Grands Prix from 1990 to 1995 in the 125 and 250cc classes and also earned a rostrum finish in the Dutch 500cc Grand Prix in 1997. His last victory came in the 1995 Brazilian 250cc Grand Prix. In 1999, Romboni moved to the World Superbike Championship on a privateer Ducati. For the past three years, Romboni has been the director of the Puccetti Racing Kawasaki team. In 2012, Coolbeth suffered a broken leg and ended the series ranked seventh with two victories. This year he was sixth in the title chase.
