FINAL ROUND/NOVEMBER 23, 2013 THE ORLEANS ARENA/LAS VEGAS, NEVADA OFF ROAD P48 GEICO AMA ENDUROCROSS SERIES, FUELED BY MONSTER ENERGY Briefly... an injured leg to win the Vet 35+ final and class championship. Nicoll was holding down second place when leader Adam Booth fell on the last lap. Not only did it cost Booth the win but also second place. Josh Adams slipped by Booth as well, making the final order Nicoll, Adams and Booth. Rachel Gutish (center) took her first ever win in the Women's class. late in the race to take second, while Redmond held on for third, ahead of Haaker and Blazusiak. "I don't know where I was," said Graffunder. "I just rode. I saw everyone piled up in the firewood section and just went around on the outside. I saw on the Hot Lap that the wood was piled up on the inside and wanted to avoid that at all cost. I think that's what saved me. It was slow on the outside but I didn't get held up with everybody. From there it was straight forward. I was third then Cody came through and got me pretty easily, I had a couple of bad laps. Once I got that sorted out I put the hammer down and caught Geoff and Kyle, and it was just smooth sailing from there." "I was second in the beginning, behind Geoff, and he was putting in a heck of a ride," Redmond said. "He wasn't jumping into the water which was kind of messing me a bit. We were run- ning into each other pretty good. That battle was a little too much and I finally got around him on lap six. At that point, I was like done. I was also sick yesterday with the flu, which might've contributed to me being tired there at the end. I held on to third and I wish I could've done better. I feel better than that [third] but fatigue got me there at the end. Congrats to Cody and Cory, they were killing it out there." It was quite an ending to quite a season and all three of the riders on the podium were thrilled to be there. Even Taddy, though he wasn't on the podium. But he made up for that when he was crowned champion later on the top step of the podium – the one he really wanted to be on. "Five times in a row, what can I say?" Taddy said. "It's been a crazy couple of years winning so many championships, so many races, it's amazing. Five years! That's the professional career of most racers, so I'm happy with that." CN Even the Trials guys struggled on the technical course, making for another chaotic battle for the win. Australian Jack Field ended up taking the close win ahead Ty Cullins and Phil Smage. 1.
