the entire weekend was Blais

who'd finish second in the Open

"It's super-cool to have somebody like Kurt that so many people have looked up to tons and
tons of people - even people that
don't really know him all that well
other than [through] racing. To
see the group and to see everybody that has come together out
here racing and riding is really
cool. I'm really happy to have had
the opportunity to know Kurt and
be a part of this. It's a great community out here so being able to
honor somebody like that, I feel
honored to do it."
In addition to the parade lap
on Saturday, the NHHA held a
flashlight vigil that evening with
everyone invited to share personal stories and anecdotes of their
interactions with Caselli.
A little further down the road in
Las Vegas, the organizers of the
GEICO EnduroCross Championship also paid tribute to Caselli
on Saturday night with a moment
of silence that took place during
opening ceremonies.
A Memorial Ride Day has also
been planned for the fallen rider
next month. The Caselli family invites all family, friends and fans of
Caselli's to attend the ride at Glen
Helen Raceway on Friday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DOWNUNDER MOTORSPORT
ON HOLD FOR 2014
he planned Australian World
Superbike team Downunder
Motorsport will not be able to contest the 2014 championship, despite the best efforts of leading figures Tom Larsen and Troy Corser.
The deadline for teams to apply for a slot on the 2014 grid has
recently passed and with not all
of the required budget in place,
the nascent team has decided to
pull the project – for now.
"It is with great regret, we
are going to stop the project for
2014," Larsen said. "We have
had too many setbacks with
promises of budget support and
partnerships, all of which have
not materialized."
The idea was to create an
Aussie-based team inside World
Superbike, using top-level BMW
Evo machinery, but it has ended

"To say we are sorry is an understatement," Larsen said. "We
are heartbroken, but not broken.
We will continue to build the relationships with the people we
have already begun to work with
