CN III VOICES P14 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "Is anyone surprised the spoiled brat has done it again?" More On Laguna Seca I agree, Laguna Seca is the West Coast "gathering of the clan" for motorcycling. Screw Dorna if they think us West Coast bikers are going to ride on the freeway to Austin, Texas, to see COTA, and you can kiss my tailpipe on my Ducati Monster if you think I'm going to ride to Indy from Palm Springs, California. You're crazy - seriously? I would gladly go attend a weekend of premier antique motorcycle racing similar to the Monterey Historic, but for motorcycles. Yes, I'll miss seeing and rooting for Ducati Corse, but I'll be damned if I am riding a boring road to a God-forsaken part of the country just because Dorna got a big check from some promoter. Oh, and just in case Dorna decides to return.... don't bother asking me to come to your show. Screw me twice shame on you! Kevin Gettmann Via the Internet President? David Bell for president! John Chaves Via the Internet Not A Rossi Fan Valentino Rossi's canning of all-conquering crew chief Jeremy Burgess is just another in a long line of the Italian egomaniac blaming someone/ something else for his failure to produce positive results. Don't get me wrong, Valentino will rightly be remembered as the GOAT of the past decade, and his riding talent and legions of fans are unprecedented. Rossi has been hugely popular with his little "monkey smile" as he waves to the cameras from his pit box, but the truth is he's a cutthroat who can be routinely counted upon to storm home with his bat and glove if the game isn't played his way. Treated to World Championships by Honda, he abandoned Big Red for Yamaha when he felt slighted by the attention his teammate was receiving. Then Vale' threatened to leave MotoGP all together if he didn't get the all conquering Bridgestone tires when he saw Bridgestone riders passing him on his Michelins - which had previously been dominant. Then his defection to Ducati amid the MotoGP fanfare of the decade, only to fall on his ass and usually trail Nicky Hayden to the finish line... and while the courageous American kept his mouth shut about Ducati's shortcomings, Rossi was banking his millions in Ducati lira and looking elsewhere. Now, much like the Ducati debacle, Valentino has spent most of the year following teammate Jorge Lorenzo on the same tackle and has fired King-Maker Burgess, owing to Rossi's less-than-spectacular results on the same Yamaha Lorenzo routinely wins on. Is anyone surprised the spoiled brat has done it again? Susan Johnson Placerville, CA C'mon, Casey, you don't need a pen name… Editor All Hail Lorenzo Marc Marquez is an amazing rider (In The Paddock, Issue 45, November 12), but I do believe Lorenzo is the better rider. George O'Malley Via Facebook All Hail Lorenzo II Jorge Lorenzo gets my vote for man of the year. He rode on an inferior bike and took eight wins. Nick Chechakos Via Facebook Got An Opinion?
