IN
THE
WIND
give to the young guys in
America that want to come
over here?
You know it's tough at the moment. I don't know what… In fact
it's hard for me to say, but the way
the American Championship… I
hear the rumor there's only five
races next year, six races, and
if that's the case I mean a 16,
17-year-old kid can't line-up six
times a year and think he's going to learn enough and develop
enough to come to this level.
So you see a lot of kids from
other countries that are catching
on. Malaysian kids are coming to
Spain. It's a big job to pull up and
come over here, but there's a lot
of competition in these championships.
I hope the American championship can get some more support
because we see a lot of the rides
going to the kids that don't necessarily maybe deserve it the most but
who have a sponsor and who pay
for it. So it's tough. You know now in
the American Championship a lot of
people pulling out Buell, Jordan…
it's tough but hopefully they find a
TV package. I mean if they lose the
TV it could be over.
Do you think that FIM and
Dorna should do the same for
the Americans like they do for
Asia and other territories?
If they're serious about get-
ting some young Americans in
the championship it might be
necessary. I mean, I know also
next year there's no American in
Red Bull Rookies… Joe Roberts
had some success there, but I
guess not enough to catch on
over here. I mean he's fast… We
know Cameron's [Beaubier] fast.
We know there's some talent
there it's just giving them opportunity and getting them the experience in America. If there's only
six races or something that's not
a lot of seat time for a kid trying to
learn. I don't want to sound negative because I hope that they can
do it, but I don't know. It's tough.

n what appears a very significant move, Honda chose the
12th annual China International
Motorcycle Show in Chongqing
to provide the world premier of
its new Thai-built CBR300R – in
advance of the big EICMA show
in Milan, Italy.
Honda has two major joint venture operations in China – Sundiro Honda and Wuyang-Honda
Motors (Guangzhou) Co. Ltd.
– which together sold 1.9 million units in 2012. However, the
global market leader chose to
exhibit at CIMAMotor 2013 under
the Honda Motor (China) Investment Co. Ltd. company name.
The new
Honda
CBR300R…
