2014 KAWASAKI NINJA 1000 ABS
Throw the
optional hard
bags on the
new Ninja, load
the thing to the
gills and go on a
road trip.
off easily and look good to boot.
They offer up to 28 liters of storage, or the size of a full-face helmet, and your dealer can match
the key to your ignition key so
you don't end up with a fob full
of keys.
The bike also gets a remote
pre-load adjuster that allows you
to change the settings on the
horizontally mounted shock (for
luggage, a passenger, etc.) by
simply twisting a knob. The bike
looks the part – with or without
the bags and the new stubby
exhaust canisters look good as
well. Nicely done.
A bike like this is made for
ABS and the system on the Ninja works well. The new Tokico
monobloc calipers, radial master
cylinder and five-way adjustable
front lever have a good feel to
them and provide plenty of stopping power for the 509.4-pound
bike – all without the fear of getting the brakes locked up. The
rear brake is fairly standard, with
the caliper located below the
swingarm.
