"This was a good race for me,"
said Bobbitt. "The soil was kind
of a mixture of Georgia clay and
South Carolina sand, so I kind of
felt at home on it.
"I was a little tight in the beginning, and I crashed pretty hard in
the third test, but then I loosened
up and came on strong after that
and was able to move up into
second."
Radiant AirGroup Racing's
Nick Fahringer came on strong in
the final two tests to secure the
final step of the podium and second overall in the final standings.
"I had a pretty good opening
test, although I was about 15 seconds off of Charlie's time," said
Fahringer. "I was anxious to go
for the AirGroup Bounty money
and I think I was a little tight. After that, I lost a lot of time in the
third test; I was charging down a
hill and there was a guy with his
bike just laying there, so I stuffed
it on a bunch of bushes to try and
miss him. So I spent about 20
seconds trying to get out of that.
Finally, in the fifth test I felt pretty
good. I kept it pinned and had
Russell Bobbitt matched a season-high second.
