confirmed on Sunday.
"I'm super excited about it,"
May say. "It's something that Erik
and I talked about going back a
few years ago, even when I came
on board early on in this program.
That was something that he wanted to do down the road and with
the sponsorship with Hero and
with the new model coming out
it's something that's now possible. I'm really excited about it."
The previous EBR1190RS model is not homologated for World
Superbike because it doesn't
meet their minimum production
requirement. But the recently announced 1190RX is slated to reach
1000 in the first production run –
enough to get it homologated for
World Superbike.
There are still a lot of details to
be worked out – testing plans,
the location of the team (though it
will be based in Europe) and the
number-two rider.
Also, EBR's plans for the 2014
AMA Superbike Championship
are still unknown.

JCR HONDA TOPS 24 HOURS
OF GLEN HELEN

to win this year's John Burr 24
Hours of Glen Helen, October
19-20.
The JCR team dealt with some
mechanical problems early
in the race, but turned
things around to catch
and pass the Precision
Concepts Kawasaki Team
late in the race. The Honda guys took the win by a
little more than a minute
over the Kawasaki team of
Robby Bell, Ty Renshaw,
Justin Seeds and Australian Chris Hollis.
The Purvines Beta Team
– Justin Morrow, Ryan Abbatoye, Nick Burson, Tallon Taylor, Max Gerston
and Jason Parsons – finished third overall and first
in the Open Expert class.
The Zip-Ty Racing KTMmounted team of Ty Davis,
Gary Sutherlin, Bobby Garrison and Mike Brown overcame
mechanical problems to finish
fourth ahead of the Team Dirt
Bike Magazine Team made up
of Mark Tilly, Benny Breck, Max
Eddy, Mark Samuels and Ricky
Brebec. The Dirt Bike Team also
finished second in the Open Expert division.
Approximately 50 teams finished the race with a total of
nearly 300 riders participating.
