of a 'nice guys finish last' kind of
thing, because if I hadn't put it in
there on him I wouldn't have got
on the podium.
"It was a really physically demanding course and those guys
who aren't in as good a shape as
some of us started making mistakes and falling," Robert said.
"I didn't make any mistakes and
I just kept moving forward. On
the last lap I made a pretty epic
pass for the last podium spot on
Brown."
Haaker wound up in fifth, just
behind Brown.
Haaker looked like a sure winner midway into the race. The former trials rider turned the fastest
lap during the hot lap session,
which earned him the first pick
on the gate for the main event,
and he took advantage of that by
grabbing the holeshot.
"I just gave it away, really,"
said Haaker. "Again, I just didn't
put it together for 10 laps. About
seven laps in, in the rock turn, I
just went to turn and I just lost my
front end and pushed it up high
and kind of looped out."
With two rounds remaining,
Brown leads the series stand-
ings at 90 points, with Blazusiak
second at 87. Robert is third with
75 points and Haaker and Webb
round out the top five with 68 and
63, respectively.
