into the penultimate round of the
series trailing Russell by seven
points and was hoping to cut that
margin down to just two. A win
and a second place by Russell
would ensure just that.
Mullins maintained his quick
pace, as Russell kicked it into
overdrive,
While Mullins, Russell and
Whibley were doing their thing up
front, a separate battle broke out
not far behind the trio, with AmPro
Yamaha's Jordan Ashburn trying
to hold off Rocky Mountain MC's
Josh Strang for fourth. Right behind them was KR4-backed KTM
rider Chris Bach.
Strang eventually caught and
passed Ashburn for fourth at the
finish, while Ashburn was able to
hold off Bach to complete the top
five overall.
Meanwhile, up front, Mullins
continued to put the hammer
down and did so all the way to the
finish, giving Russell no chance
of catching him. Mullins ended
up taking the win well over a
minute ahead of Russell, putting
an end to Russell's five-race win
streak.
Mullins also narrowed the gap
between himself and Russell
down to just two points, making
