battle. I tried for him to make
some mistake, so I attacked
on every occasion. It was fun
until the last overtaking, until
then really clean. In this corner
he didn't let me have so much
space and I had to close the
throttle, but this is more or less
a normal overtake and not so
dangerous because you can
see the other rider.
"At the beginning our pace
is good, but when the rear tire
starts to go then I have trouble
in braking and acceleration,"
he added, explaining that in hot
conditions, the Yamaha always
struggled.
When Marquez got through
on lap nine, Pedrosa was 1.3
seconds away, and for two laps
Marquez gave a superb display
of on the limit riding, the bike
painting black lines out of every
corner. But the gap was opening up by .3 of a second a lap,
and Pedrosa was doing it with
much less visible effort. Second was good enough for the
youngster.
Yamaha's Valentino Rossi
had attacked Marquez on lap
one only to be swiftly put back
again, then stayed close to the
leaders for the first seven laps,
chased hard for a time by Go &
Fun Honda's Alvaro Bautista until the Spaniard ran wide on lap
five. Soon afterwards Rossi was
out of touch, for another fourth
place, though taking comfort
