about having to change his own tires (on the clock,
of course) going into the event, but he pulled
through like a champ. Mechanics can hand riders
tools but cannot assist the rider in maintenance,
though they are allowed to replace fuel and oil.

Motocross rider Ryan Sipes had a great
ride in his first-ever ISDE, winning the C1
class and also running away to victory in
his final MX test moto. He was one of three
Americans to win a moto – Zach Osborne
and Mike Brown were the other two. Sipes
says he's seriously considering a switch to
full-time off-road racing.
