SURGERY FOR DESALLE
R
ockstar Energy Suzuki's Clement Desalle underwent surgery
on Friday, October 4 to repair the left
shoulder he dislocated in the second
heat of the 2013 Motocross of Nations
at Teutschenthal in Germany. Desalle
was involved in the first-corner pile-up
that ended his role in Team Belgium's
overall victory.
The plate in his shoulder from 2011
will be removed and the reconstructive surgery will force the 25-year-old
Belgian to take a month off to recover.
That means that Desalle will be out of
the scheduled tests for the 2014 season as well as the Give Me 5 event
in Madrid, Spain and the Superbiker
race in Mettet.
Clement Desalle will be out of action for at least a month
following shoulder surgery last week.
NUMBERS ARE OUT
T
he AMA released the 2014
professional numbers for
AMA Supercross and Motocross, and two new career numbers have been assigned.
Probably the most notable
change involves 2013 250cc National Motocross Champion Eli
Tomac. Last year, Tomac wore
the number 17, but he will now
wear the number-3 plates for the
rest of his professional career.
He'll be taking it over from longtime wearer of the number Mike
Brown. Unfortunately for Tomac,
he will not get the chance to wear
the number-one plates next year,
since he's moving up to the 450
class and won't be defending his
outdoor 250cc title.
Tomac's GEICO Honda teammate Zach Osborne, well known
for his number 338, has been
given career number 16.
GEICO Honda's Wil Hahn will
wear the number-23 plate in
2014 when he's not busy defending his East Supercross Championship.
AMA Horizon Award winner
Matt Bisceglia will wear the number-96 plate.
