fell I wanted to attack Marquez,
but Dani's bike was on my line."

The Joker, who went home grinning. He started from pole for
the seventh time in his maiden
MotoGP season, made a few
mad moves early in the race,
then regrouped, and closed up
remorselessly to claim his sixth
win, and stretch his title lead.
It had been, he said, a tough
race, having to fight back twice…
first when Pedrosa passed him,
then again after running wide after missing his braking, as he had
at Misano.
"After that race I said I had to
be more careful – but I had a little
lock-up and had to release the
brake. The contact was nothing,
like when he [Pedrosa] passed
me at Misano… but it was my
fault, because I was behind him."
That it has caused the crash
was "a bit of bad luck and I'm sorry for that – it's something very
unusual to see. The important
thing is that Dani is okay."
Later he went to apologize,
and (unlike Lorenzo at Jerez) it
was accepted.
