VOL. 50 ISSUE 39 OCTOBER 1, 2013 chased him until about six laps into the 19-lap moto, and then Tomac went by Dungey and continued forward. Roczen took over the lead at about the same time, and was passed with six laps to go by Italy's Antonio Cairoli, who went on to take the victory. "I slipped on the start and was pretty bad around the middle group, 15 or 16 our first lap," Cairoli said. "Then I could make some good passes and come back to the top. But Ken [Roczen] was a little bit already in the lead, so we had some free way in front and we had some good gap. I tried to make some fast laps and come close to him. When I was in Justin Barcia topped the Open class despite a secondmoto first-turn fall. the back of him, he made a little mistake on the corner and I could pass him on the outside. Yeah, I just pulled away a little bit and made as much points as possible for Italy." A man on a mission, Tomac chased Roczen down, and with four laps to go, Tomac went for a pass on his AMA rival, but instead of going by Roczen, he went down in a very big way. "It was just after the start line there and then going up the big single, I just went a little too fast and got cross-rutted and it kind of ripped the bars out of my hands," Tomac said. "At that point, I was just kind of rolling up the windows P47 Briefly... pretty apparent chassis-setting issues on Sunday, as did Ryan Dungey, and quite a few other GP strangers. However, Ferris led the team to a fourth-place finish overall by virtue of two holeshots on his YZ250F and 4-5 moto scores. Waters struggled with poor starts, but he'll have plenty of opportunity to improve those in the GPs next year. Todd Waters was dominant in this year's Australian MX Nationals until he broke his collarbone about 3/4 through the series, but he still finished second in that title chase Down Under. He's joining Tyla Rattray on the newly re-formed Husqvarna racing team for 2014. With Husky now owned by KTM, they're making a push in the 2014 GPs to establish themselves. Our understanding is that the engine will start out very similar to KTM's, but will take its own path in R&D, but the chassis should be essentially different from the KTMs built under the same ownership.
