A second-place finish
at Honey Lake was
enough for Robby
Bell to claim the 2013
WORCS title.
or Robby Bell, the Honey
Lake round of the 2013
World Off-Road Championship Series will be one that
he won't soon forget, if ever. After all, it's hard not to remember
clinching your first major off-road
championship, which the Precision Concepts-backed Kawasaki
rider did in the WORCS series
with one round left on the schedule. A second-place finish on
the very "off-road" and technical Honey Lake racecourse was
enough for him to get the chance
to wear the number-one plate
next year.
Tim Shelman, WORCS director of operations, presented Bell
with the number one plate on the
podium. "I have been chasing the
WORCS Series Championship
for about six years, so I guess
you could say it has been a long
time coming," Bell said. "I have
learned a lot about myself both
mentally and physically. I feel like
it has all come together, and it
feels really good to get the championship after so many years of
trying."
Of the eight of nine rounds run
so far, Bell has recorded three
wins, four second-place finishes
and one seventh, good enough
to take the 2013 title away from
2012 WORCS Champion Taylor
Robert, who did not try to defend
his title, though he did show up
for three rounds this year and
won all three.
