CN III VOICES P16 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "Let's all hope for a return to sanity in our sport in the very near future." Green And Flat Track Okay, Kawasaki, I do believe it's time for a "thank you" to the fine folks on the podium at the Springfield Mile doubleheader flat track National. A green sweep of the podium on both days! And, if I have my info straight, Brandon Robinson's team is paying for it all out of pocket. I understand all too well budget cuts and a tight belt, but something tells me there is more than one 650 engine available to these guys. A crashed demo here or there? A recall, a warranty? Crate damage? A something sitting around that may get these guys to the next event. All this did not happen overnight. They have been paying their dues getting these bikes to work. We have all been crying for more brands in dirt track and the little Kawasaki is a fantastic base to build a bike. Dirt track will never be Supercross and we all understand that, but it is very, very close to the heart of this consumer. should have went away. Without a doubt it's clearly worthy of importing to the U.S., but only after they install a larger gas tank as the current 1.8-gallon tank is just too small to be taken seriously in the U.S. Liking The Free Ride Someone please tell KTM that they are really onto something good with the Freeride 250 two-stroke. The concept is impressive and I'm loving the new twist on something that never Frank Keltin Long Beach, CA Greg Tysor Via the Internet Rich Klein Allendale, MI Point Standings I was a long time subscriber of the Cycle News paper edition. One thing I liked was at the end of every race covered, Cycle News always listed the revised and current up to date points standings. In the web edition, this never happens. And to make it worse, I can't even find them on Cycle News anywhere. I always like to keep track how racers were progressing. What's the problem with not listing the current standings at the end of every race covered? Not enough room in the cyberspace edition? But I will say Cycle News does an excellent job on the price compared to the paper edition. I don't think it could be any better. We list the championship point standings in every issue on the two Leaderboard pages. In this issue, those can be found on pages 76-77. As for the price… yes, free is difficult to beat… Editor Wiles Out? What is wrong with our sport and industry when a great racer like Henry Wiles gets cut with two races left in the championship chase? I won't pretend to know what friction exists between team sponsor David Lloyd and Wiles, but I think it's fair to say this wouldn't happen to Jimmie Johnson or Kyle Busch in NASCAR. Knowing Peoria and Chris Carr as I have, it makes Wiles' wins there all the more remarkable. Let's all hope for a return to sanity in our sport in the very near future.
