sight, only three seconds separated the top three riders – Russell, Mullins and Strang. In what
was one of the most exciting and
closest finishes all season, Russell held on to take the win two
seconds ahead of Mullins, with
Strang finishing one second behind Mullins in third. It was Russell's fourth consecutive win
and is now the rider everyone
is chasing for the championship
with just three rounds left on the
schedule.
Mead, on the FMF/RPM KTM,
held on to finish fourth almost a
full two minutes behind Strang. It
was his best ride of the year.
Rounding out the top five in
class was AmPro Yamaha's Jor-
P65
dan Ashburn who took the checkered flag well over four minutes
behind Mead.
Girroir, the privateer KTM
rider from Southwick, Massachusetts, took sixth, followed
by fellow XC1-class riders Chris
Bach, Ricky Russell, DuVall and
Takeshi Koikeda.
Russell now leads the class
