vidson that broke in Saturday's main
event. He then tried a Suzuki that
seemed to have electrical problems, so he eventually switched
over to one of Bill Werner's Kawasaki's on Sunday. He missed making Sunday's final.
Johnny Lewis had adventures riding different motorcycles as well at
Springfield. He started off on his
normal Triumph, but it was using
a never before tested motor that
didn't run well. He then was given
an old twin shock Harley-Davidson

but DNF'd again.

Halbert went to be checked out
after Peoria after recognizing that
he had symptoms of a concussion.
AMA Pro Racing is looking into
the feasibility of implementing

Racer and stat enthusiast Bert
Sumner pointed out that Brandon
Robinson became only the second rider in AMA Grand National
history to win a short track and then
mile as his first two victories. The
only other rider to accomplish that
feat is Bryan Smith. Robinson now
has three career AMA Grand National wins, all-coming this season.
Henry Wiles switched from the
Lloyd Brother's Motorsports Ducati
in Saturday's races to the team's
Harley-Davidson XR750 on Sunday. "As the day wore on Saturday
the track changed and some of the
adjustments we made to the Ducati
worked and some didn't," Wiles
explained. "We decided to give it a
go with the Harley." Wiles finished
ninth on each bike.
