variety of tire choices, with the
harder rear option coming into
play for pretty much the first time
this season, and only one full factory rider (Nicky Hayden on the
Ducati) using the soft front. Bradley Smith, Bradl, Hayden, Andrea
Dovizioso and Bautista stuck with
the usual soft rear, but the rest
took the hard.
Although Pedrosa would never
get higher than third, he was close
throughout, until the last lap.
"I made a mistake onto the back
straight, and lost all chances."
A gap of just over half-a-second at the start of that lap was
almost another second bigger by
the end of it.
The action was all at the front,
and it was rich.
On lap 18 Marquez had finally turned his constant probing
threats into a successful attack,
sitting Lorenzo up as he pushed
through on the inside at Brooklands corner, and led over the
