P24 WIND na, but all of his other titles came while riding for KTM. Salminen says that although he feels he has the capability to compete for more championships, he knows that he's no longer willing to put in 100-percent effort into racing. "I had several offers on the table and speed; I could have continued [my] career without any issue," he said. "I have always done my work as well as possible, and work itself has motivated me. For this reason I have been able to race for so long at top level. At the moment I do not want to any longer commit on racing with full dedication, and I want to direct my effort on new things. My personality does not allow me to stand still so I will fig- ure out something else." It didn't take him long to figure that out, as he has been named Husqvarna Brand Manager in Finland and the Baltic states, in the new Husqvarna Nordic organization. This seems unlikely, with probably four Aprilias on the grid in 2014, although probably not one for the Feel Racing team, which likely won't have a team once BMW pulls out. By the end of the day at Toby Moody and Jorge Lorenzo get ready to auction off some passes in the Riders For Health auction at Silverstone last week. Silverstone, some $325,000 was raised for the charity that supports work in Africa. The day featured everything from the rock band Sidewinder, to host John Price pitting pundits like former GP racer Steve Parrish against journalists in apocalyptic battles of racing trivia (Parrish also rode Barry Sheene's old RGV500 Suzuki in a tribute, 10 years after continued on next page
