I
've been making the trek to Sturgis
for many years. Not to visit nearby
Mt. Rushmore but to attend the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. I just love it.
In fact, you might say I've become a
Sturgis regular. But my visit to Sturgis this year was like none other. The
best ever, in fact. And I don't see it
ever being topped. You see, this
year I got to be a part of the re-birth
of Indian motorcycles and, better
yet, I got a chance to ride all three of
the first new Indian models – Chief
All of the new
Indian Chiefs,
including the
Classic pictured
here, are
inspired by the
past but reflect
the future of the
Indian brand.
Classic, Chief Vintage and Chief
Chieftain – that were introduced at
Sturgis this year by the revitalized Indian Motorcycle Company.
The story of the Indian brand
is already well documented. You
probably wouldn't be reading this if
you didn't already know the tale of
America's first motorcycle company.
It started in 1901 but ended all too
soon 52 years later when the company went bankrupt. Why? I don't really know for sure, but I do know that
