LOOKS AREN'T EVERYTHING
Indian chiefs (company brass
that is) claims that its new Thunder Stroke 111 motor mill delivers
119 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm.
That's significant and believeable. These bikes feel powerful.
They chug smoothly and nicely
off the bottom and pull hard
seamlessly as you accelerate
through the gears. The meat of
the power seems to be right at
that low-to-mid range point, but
overall power is quite impressive.
Vibration is present but not overly
dramatic for such big V-twins.
In sixth/overdrive gear while at
speed what vibes there are pretty
much disappear.
Of course, sound is very important when it comes to cruisers
and the Indian machines don't
