In the main event, Webb took
the lead at the end of the opening lap, and then steadily pulled
away from the field before taking
the checkers almost three minutes ahead of Robert.
"Even though it's a long race,
everyone was wanting to get into
the lead to avoid any bottlenecks,
but we were all making really big
mistakes for the first part of that
