Ducati-Based Rally Bike Set
for 2027 Dakar
R
ebel X is developing a Ducati-
based rally motorcycle for
the 2027 Dakar Rally, with plans
to produce a limited run of 35
motorcycles following the event.
Based on the Ducati Des-
mo450 EDS dual sport, the EDS
450 Rally was developed by
Rebel X under the direction of
former Dakar competitor and
motorcycle designer Manuel
Lucchese. Italian rider Tiziano In-
terno, also known as "Rally Pov,"
is scheduled to compete aboard
the prototype in the Original by
Motul category, which requires
riders to race without a dedicat-
ed assistance crew.
The rally bike features a
titanium Akrapovič exhaust,
GET engine management with
rally-specific mapping, a 34-liter
fuel capacity, a digital navigation
tower, LED lighting and Brembo
racing brakes. The suspension
has also been modified for rally
competition.
The EDS 450 Rally is sched-
uled to debut publicly at EICMA
this week. Rebel X plans to open
pre-orders in February 2027, with
deliveries beginning in July. Pro-
duction will be limited to 35 units.
Although Ducati engines previ-
ously powered the Cagiva Ele-
fant in the Dakar Rally, the Rebel
X project would mark the first
Dakar appearance of a complete
Ducati-based motorcycle.
