for the pits, but his replacement
machine wasn't ready, much to
the Aussie's ire. Alex Marquez,
meanwhile, crashed at turn 14
while leading, handing the advan-
tage to Ogura.
With conditions remaining
predominantly dry, most of the
leading group elected to stay on
slick tires. Joan Mir (Honda HRC

Ducati) and Franco Morbidelli
(VR46 Ducati) gambled on wet-
weather machinery, but the deci-
sion ultimately failed to pay off.
Acosta moved into the lead with
four laps remaining, while Mar-
quez worked his way past Ogura
for second. Bezzecchi followed
suit, passing Ogura to secure third.

MotoGP Sprint
In what would prove a highly
entertaining race, Ai Ogura (Track-
house MotoGP Team) initially
moved ahead of Marquez at the
start, while Alex Marquez grabbed
the early lead. Acosta also
passed the championship leader

"Today has been good when we look
at the whole weekend; yesterday af-
ter the Sprint, I honestly did not know
if I would be able to finish this race,"
Luca Marini said. "Today was a day
to remember, even if it is just for sev-
enth place, we did an amazing race
in a tough situation. I knew that the
first lap would be the most critical, so
I went as hard as I could and I found
myself with [Johann] Zarco and kept
him as a point of motivation through-
out. Now I'll head back to Italy before
Qatar to continue to improve my
condition as much as possible."

"I struggled badly in [Sunday's] race,
but there are still positives to take
from the weekend," Marco Bezzecchi
said. "Now we go to Qatar. I'm not
sure what to expect, but there's no
shortage of drive and determination.
I hope we'll have an easier time, but
if not, we'll take the same positive ap-
proach we had here at Sepang."
