T
he 2026 MotoGP World Championship is becoming one
of the most intriguing in years as Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia
Racing Team) showed the world he's still in contention.
The Italian took his first win since his memorable home
glory at Mugello in May, holding off a heroic polesitter Raul
Fernandez (Trackhouse Aprilia) and teammate Jorge Martin,
with Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia) taking fourth and giving
Aprilia its first-ever 1-2-3-4 finish in MotoGP.
Fernandez's ride was particularly gutsy after the Spaniard and
Bezzecchi came together at turn one of the Sprint, the resulting
impact breaking two fingers in his right hand and causing him
to rewire his brain to brake the RS-GP with a foreign style—one
that at half distance looked as though it would take him to a
third MotoGP win until Bezzecchi struck with eight laps to go.
