for the win at the Ascot Half Mile made the cover
50 years ago. Springsteen came away with the
number one plate... Steve Eklund won the Ascot
TT the following night... Roger DeCoster made
a trip over to the USA and won the third round
of the 500cc Trans-AMA Motocross series at
Unadilla... Victor Palomo topped Gary Nixon
at Hockenheim in the FIM Formula 750.

Doug Chandler wrapped up the 1996 AMA Superbike
National Championship with a victory at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway and was on the cover 30 years
