Uriarte's challenge took a
major hit on lap eight when he
received a double long-lap pen-
alty after his team worked on his
bike following the three-minute
board. Almansa regained the
lead and set the pace, but Quiles
steadily closed the gap.
Quiles moved into second on
lap 12 and looked ready to at-
tack on the final lap. A mistake
at turn eight briefly dropped him
a second back, but he recovered
to challenge Almansa through
the closing sector. Quiles at-
tacked at turns 11, 13 and 14,
but Almansa defended perfectly
to take the win.
Carpe secured third for his
seventh podium of the season,
with Uriarte recovering to fourth.
Rico Salmela, Bertelle, David
Munoz, Yamanaka, Joel Esteban
and Adrian Cruces completed
the top 10.
Quiles leads the champion-
ship with 326 points, ahead of
Almansa on 199 and Carpe on
191.
