The Numbers Are Out! T he AMA announced the pro- fessional competition num- bers for the pro-licensed riders participating in the 2027 AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Moto- cross Championships. Professional numbers are as- signed and used throughout the season. The defending champion races with the number one plate when competing in the class or region where the plate was earned, while using the assigned professional number outside the champion's title class or region. Among the factory-backed riders and the number one plate holders, there are a few notable and career numbers you'll need to relearn, most notably Jorge Prado's. Formerly wearing 26, the Spaniard is reverting to 61, which he wore in the MXGP Champion- ships and when he won his two MXGP World Championship titles in 2023 and 2024, as well as two MX2 titles in 2018 and 2019. Cole Davies is switching from 37 to five, but he'll run the num- ber one all year, except for the three Playoff rounds (when he will wear five). Ryder DiFrancesco is switching from 34 to 10. Another notable switch: Julien Beaumer went from 13 to 19 (though this isn't officially his career number).
