FIM World Supercross Cancels British GP

he FIM World Supercross
Championship (WSX) can-
celed the second round of its
championship, the British GP,
set to take place on October 10
in Birmingham, England. This
news comes as the series looks
to secure new investments that
will "strengthen the foundations
of the FIM World Supercross
Championship and support its
next phase of global growth."
As of now, there is no further
word on whether any of the other
rounds—Argentina, South Africa,
Australia and New Zealand—will
be canceled as well.
"We are encouraged by the
efforts being made by SX Global
to position the Championship
for the future," WSX said. "We all
believe in World Supercross and
know there is a global audience
for the sport. Motorcycles, riding
equipment, content and stream-
ing are consumed across markets
throughout the world, and we
need to continue working towards
reaching those audiences. We
look forward to seeing what the
future holds for World Super-
cross. The teams remain commit-
ted and will be ready to race when
the Championship returns."
All ticket holders will re-
ceive an email directly from
Ticketmaster. Refunds will be
processed automatically to the
original payment method and
should be received within 14 to
21 days.

the Championship is positioned
for long-term growth and suc-
