Galfer has a staff of 130 people
who mostly work in the
64,580-square-foot facility, and they
produced nearly 2,000,000 brake pads
and an undisclosed number of brake
rotors last year. They supply these to
several motorcycle and bicycle OEM
manufacturers, which account for 25
percent of sales volume, and to after-
market customers, which account for
the remaining 75 percent.
Seeing the team of engineers,
production staff, quality control team
and equipment used for development
and testing was very interesting.
We started our tour in the R&D
department, which develops special
blends of braking compounds, brake
rotors, brackets and associated parts.
We then went to the production floor,
